North Carolina High School Volleyball - Owen can't get by Avery County

September 2, 2025: Black Mountain, NC 28711

Avery County Vikings (Newland, NC) followers left the game satisfied Tuesday as they saw their volleyball squad edge the host Owen Warhorses (Black Mountain, NC), 2-1 in a non-league test.

With the win, Avery County upgrades its record to 6-1 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to West Caldwell (Lenoir, NC) to play the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, September 3. The Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 4-4. West Caldwell won 2-1 in their recent league challenge against East Burke (Connelly Springs, NC)

Next, the Warhorses play the Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC) in a non-league game, on Thursday, September 4. Owen will attempt to advance on its 4-1 season record. The Mountaineers go into the game with a 2-5 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Polk County (Columbus, NC).
