Fans at Tuesday's non-league battle between the Richland County Tigers (Olney, IL) and the visiting Mattoon Greenwave (Mattoon, IL), saw Richland County's soccer squad hold off Mattoon by a count of 1-0.

The Tigers (3-1) will now prepare for their battle against Mt. Carmel (Mt. Carmel, IL). The Golden Aces come into the Little Illini match with a 0-1 record. In their last match, Mt. Carmel was tipped by Princeton (Princeton, IN), 8-1, in a non-league match.

The Greenwave now sport a 2-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Champaign Central for a non-league match on Thursday, September 4. Mattoon will meet a Maroons team coming off a 2-2 non-league Urbana University (Urbana, IL). The Maroons record now stands at 1-2.
