The Pender Patriots soccer squad (Burgaw, NC), was edged 2-1 in Tuesday's non-league battle with the visiting South Brunswick Cougars (Southport, NC)

The Cougars (2-3) will now prepare for their battle against West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC). The Trojans enter the non-league battle with a 3-1 record. In their last battle, West Brunswick tipped South Columbus (Tabor City, NC), 10-2, in a non-league test.

The Patriots now sport a 0-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to West Bladen for a non-league test on Thursday, September 4. Pender will meet a Knights team coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Union (Rose Hill, NC). The Knights record now stands at 1-3.
