Spectators at Tuesday's non-league contest between the Atkinson County Rebels (Pearson, GA) and the host Montgomery County Eagles (Mt. Vernon, GA), saw Atkinson County's softball squad beat Montgomery County by a score of 15-2.

With the triumph, Atkinson County improves its record to 2-7 on the year. The Rebels host Clinch County (Homerville, GA) to face the Panthers in a 1A D-II Region 2 contest on Thursday, September 4. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 6-3. Clinch County lost 5-4 in their recent league bout against Irwin County (Ocilla, GA)

In their next game, the Eagles battle the McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers (Darien, GA) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, September 3. Montgomery County will attempt to advance on its 1-10 season record. The Buccaneers go into the bout with a 6-9 record after their 12-0 league loss to Claxton (Claxton, GA).
