The Simpson Academy Cougars (Mendenhall, MS) softball nipped the host Madison-Ridgeland Academy Patriots (Madison, MS), 2-1 in Tuesday's league outing.
The Cougars now have a 19-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Oak Forest Academy for a non-league test on Monday, September 8. Simpson Academy will clash with a Yellowjackets squad coming off a 7-6 non-league loss to Simpson Academy (Mendenhall, MS). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 0-1.
With the loss, Madison-Ridgeland Academy moves to 1-2 on the season.
