The Newkirk Tigers softball team scored 8 runs and held the host Morrison Wildcats to 5 in the Tigers non-league win on Tuesday.

The Tigers now sport a 5-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Tonkawa for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, September 3. Newkirk will meet a Buccaneers squad coming off a 4-2 non-league win over Okarche (Okarche, OK). The Buccaneers record now stands at 4-2.

The Wildcats (5-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Dale (Dale, OK). The Pirates go into the 2A challenge with a 7-0 record. In their last challenge, Dale held off Tecumseh (Tecumseh, OK), 14-7, in a non-league battle.
