Columbus Falcons (Columbus, MS) backers were pleased Tuesday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the host West Point Green Wave (West Point, MS), 3-1 in a league challenge.

The Falcons (2-8) will now prepare for their challenge against New Hope (Columbus, MS). The Trojans come into the Class 5A Region 1 challenge with a 3-12 record. In their last challenge, New Hope was beaten by Pontotoc (Pontotoc, MS), 3-2, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Green Wave face the Lafayette Commodores (Oxford, MS) in a Class 5A Region 1 test, on Thursday, September 4. West Point will attempt to advance on its 3-7 season record. The Commodores go into the test with a 5-10 record after their 3-1 non-league loss to Alcorn Central (Glen, MS).
