The crowd at Monday's non-league match between the Durango Demons (Durango, CO) and the host Montezuma-Cortez Panthers (Cortez, CO), saw Durango's softball squad nip Montezuma-Cortez by a count of 10-3.

The Demons now sport a 11-5 record. They take the field next when they host Meeker for a non-league match on Friday, October 1.

With the loss, Montezuma-Cortez falls to 10-4 on the campaign. The Panthers host Delta (Delta, CO) to face the Panthers in a 3A Western Slope match on Friday, September 24. The Panthers enter the match with a record of 8-7. Delta won 9-5 in their recent league match against Basalt (Basalt, CO)
