Match Summary
The Poquoson Islanders beat back a determined effort by the Lady Trojans to add another victory to their record, 21-25, 20-25, 19-25. Both teams were playing their eighth match in five days and, at times, New Kent seemed just a little more worn down than their opponent. Poquoson was mostly able to handle the New Kent serves that had given Jamestown fits the night before, while Poquoson's serve left the Lady Trojans often out-of-system with only one attack choice, set the left front. Senior outside hitter Aubrey Hyndshaw relished the extra swings, setting a personal best of 20 kills and a .444 attack efficiency for the match and becoming only the 11th player in program history to record 20 kills or higher in a match. Also her 6.7 kills per set for the three-set match is the third highest in program history. Fallon Greenawalt, also hitting outside, tallied 9 kills on 44 swings with only 4 errors. Setter Mackenzie Loveland also recorded a personal best 26 assists for the night.
