In Wednesday's league battle, the host Carson Cougars soccer squad scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Northwest Cabarrus Trojans.

The Cougars (4-3) will now prepare for their battle against East Rowan (Salisbury, NC). The Mustangs come into the South Piedmont 3A battle with a 4-6 record. In their last battle, East Rowan nudged Central Davidson (Lexington, NC), 3-2, in a non-league battle.

The Trojans (4-5) will now prepare for their battle against Concord (Concord, NC). The Spiders come into the South Piedmont 3A battle with a 4-2 record. In their last battle, Concord was nudged by Central Cabarrus (Concord, NC), 1-0, in a league battle.
