Washington High School Football - Liberty thwarted by Mercer Island

Mercer Island Islanders (Mercer Island, WA) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the host Liberty Patriots (Issaquah, WA), 35-21 in a league battle.

With the win, Mercer Island improves its record to 3-0 on the season. The Islanders travel to Hazen (Renton, WA) to play the Highlanders in a non-league battle on Friday, September 27. The Highlanders go into the battle with a record of 2-1. Hazen lost 28-26 in their recent non-league battle against Olympia (Olympia, WA)

The Patriots now have a 1-2 record. They play next when they host Juanita for a 4A KingCo battle on Thursday, September 26. Liberty will play a Ravens team coming off a 29-28 league win over Woodinville (Woodinville, WA). The Ravens record now stands at 1-2.
