In Friday's league challenge, the visiting Blooming Grove Lions volleyball team scored a 3-0 triumph over the Rice Bulldogs.

The Lions (14-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Palmer (Palmer, TX). The Bulldogs come into the 3A Region III District 18 challenge with a 20-11 record. In their last challenge, Palmer beat Maypearl (Maypearl, TX), 3-1, in a league challenge.

Next, the Bulldogs meet the Scurry-Rosser Wildcats (Scurry, TX) in a 3A Region III District 18 challenge, on Tuesday, September 24. Rice will attempt to upgrade on its 16-11 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 14-10 record after their 3-1 league loss to Blooming Grove (Blooming Grove, TX).
