In Friday's non-league challenge, the visiting Cedar Grove Panthers volleyball team scored a close 2-1 victory over the Payne Tech Lions.

The Panthers (5-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Mount St. Dominic Academy (Caldwell, NJ). The Lions enter the non-league challenge with a 2-3 record. In their last challenge, Mount St. Dominic Academy got by Newark Academy (Livingston, NJ), 2-1, in a non-league battle.

The Lions now own a 2-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hoboken for a non-league battle on Saturday, September 21. Payne Tech will encounter a Redwings squad coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Union City (Union City, NJ). The Redwings record now stands at 8-0.
