In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Ballard Bombers volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Nevada Cubs.

The Bombers (9-4) will now prepare for their challenge against A-D-M (Adel, IA). The Tigers come into the Raccoon River challenge with a 15-5 record. In their last challenge, A-D-M edged North Polk (Alleman, IA), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Cubs meet the Greene County Rams (Jefferson, IA) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, September 25. Nevada will attempt to advance on its 16-11 season record. The Rams go into the test with a 6-7 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center (Guthrie Center, IA).
