In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Cherokee Braves volleyball team scored a close 2-1 victory over the West Henderson Falcons.

The Braves (17-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Swain County (Bryson City, NC). The Maroon Devils enter the Smoky Mountain 1A/2A challenge with a 7-7 record. In their last challenge, Swain County was tipped by Hayesville (Hayesville, NC), 3-0, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Falcons face the East Henderson Eagles (East Flat Rock, NC) in a Mountain Eight 4A/5A test, on Tuesday, September 23. West Henderson will attempt to improve on its 16-5 season record. The Eagles go into the test with a 0-14 record after their 3-0 league loss to Smoky Mountain (Sylva, NC).
