St. Mary's Hawks (Remsen, IA) backers were pleased Saturday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the host Gehlen Catholic Jays (Le Mars, IA), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Hawks (8-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Harris-Lake Park (Lake Park, IA). The Wolves come into the non-league challenge with a 1-10 record. In their last challenge, Harris-Lake Park lost by North Union (Armstrong, IA), 2-1, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Jays play the Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn Hawks (Hartley, IA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, September 23. Gehlen Catholic will attempt to upgrade on its 4-10 season record. The Hawks come into the challenge with a 1-9 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Pocahontas (Pocahontas, IA).
