The Valley Center Hornets prevailed the visiting Newton Railroaders volleyball squad by a margin of 2-0 in Saturday's non-league outing.

The Hornets now possess a 6-7 record. They play next when they host South for a Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division I outing on Tuesday, September 23. Valley Center will clash with a Cougars team coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Emporia (Emporia, KS). The Cougars record now stands at 11-7.

With the loss, Newton drops to 3-13 on the campaign. The Railroaders travel to Hutchinson (Hutchinson, KS) to clash with the Salthawks in a non-league outing on Saturday, September 20. The Salthawks come into the outing with a record of 10-2. Hutchinson won 2-0 in their recent league match against Derby (Derby, KS)
