Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Pell City Panthers (Pell City, AL) and the host Shades Valley Mounties (Birmingham, AL), observed Pell City's volleyball team hold off Shades Valley by a tally of 2-1.

The Panthers (12-13) will now prepare for their contest against Lincoln (Lincoln, AL). The Golden Bears enter the non-league contest with a 4-9 record. In their last contest, Lincoln was nudged by Moody (Moody, AL), 3-2, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Mounties face the Pinson Valley Indians (Pinson, AL) in a non-league test, on Tuesday, September 23. Shades Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 4-6 season record. The Indians come into the challenge with a 0-5 record after their 2-0 league loss to Gardendale (Gardendale, AL).
