General McLane Lancers (Edinboro, PA) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host Mercyhurst Prep Lakers (Erie, PA), 3-2 in a league challenge.

Next, the Lancers confront the Grove City Eagles (Grove City, PA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, September 23. General McLane will attempt to better on its 6-1 season record. The Eagles enter the challenge with a 7-0 record after their 1-0 league win over Hickory (Hermitage, PA).

The Lakers now have a 5-3 record. They take the field next when they host North East for a District 10 Region 3 challenge on Monday, September 25. Mercyhurst Prep will confront a Grape Pickers team coming off a 3-1 non-league win over Slippery Rock (Slippery Rock, PA). The Grape Pickers record now stands at 7-2.
