Hazelwood Central Hawks (Florissant, MO) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Hazelwood East Spartans (St. Louis, MO), 19-13 in a league challenge.

The Hawks now own a 4-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to McCluer North for a Class 4 District 6 challenge on Monday, September 25. Hazelwood Central will battle a Stars squad coming off a 19-4 non-league loss to Ritenour (Overland, MO). The Stars record now stands at 4-6.

With the loss, Hazelwood East falls to 0-8 on the campaign. The Spartans host McCluer North (Florissant, MO) to battle the Stars in a Class 4 District 6 challenge on Tuesday, September 26. The Stars enter the challenge with a record of 4-6.
