The Avery County Vikings football team (Newland, NC), was ripped 40-0 in Thursday's non-league challenge with the visiting Owen Warhorses (Black Mountain, NC)

The Warhorses (3-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Mitchell (Bakersville, NC). The Mountaineers come into the non-league challenge with a 2-3 record. In their last challenge, Mitchell trounced Madison (Marshall, NC), 74-36, in a non-league challenge.

The Vikings now sport a 0-5 record. They take the field next when they host Mountain Heritage for a non-league challenge on Thursday, October 6.
