Highlands Highlanders (Highlands, NC) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the host Summit Charter Bears (Cashiers, NC), 8-1 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Highlanders face the Swain County Maroon Devils (Bryson City, NC) in a Smoky Mountain 1A challenge, on Monday, September 26. Highlands will attempt to better on its 2-2 season record. The Maroon Devils enter the challenge with a 4-8 record after their 5-0 league win over Cherokee (Cherokee, NC).

The Bears now have a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Highlands for a non-league challenge on Friday, September 30.
