The Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes softball team scored 7 runs and limited the host Hart County Bulldogs to 4 in the Purple Hurricanes league triumph on Thursday.

With the triumph, Monroe Area improves its record to 9-9 on the year. The Purple Hurricanes travel to Southwest DeKalb (Decatur, GA) to clash with the Panthers in a non-league game on Saturday, September 24. The Panthers come into the game with a record of 7-7. Southwest DeKalb won 17-5 in their recent league game against Druid Hills (Atlanta, GA)

In their next game, the Bulldogs clash with the Franklin County Lions (Carnesville, GA) in a 3A Region 8 game, on Tuesday, September 27. Hart County will attempt to improve on its 6-8 season record. The Lions come into the game with a 16-5 record after their 10-8 league win over Oconee County (Watkinsville, GA).
