In Monday's league bout, the host Charlotte Catholic Cougars soccer squad scored a tight 2-1 victory over the Porter Ridge Pirates.
The Cougars now possess a 11-0 record. They take the field next when they host South Mecklenburg for a non-league game on Tuesday, September 23. Charlotte Catholic will face a Sabres team coming off a 3-1 league win over Garinger (Charlotte, NC). The Sabres record now stands at 8-2.
The Pirates (10-2) will now prepare for their game against Piedmont (Monroe, NC). The Panthers come into the Southern Carolina 6A/7A game with a 2-6 record. In their last game, Piedmont was nipped by Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC), 3-0, in a league game.
