Fans at Monday's league battle between the Chase Trojans (Forest City, NC) and the visiting East Rutherford Cavaliers (Bostic, NC), saw Chase's soccer squad hold off East Rutherford by a count of 3-2.

The Trojans (2-5) will now prepare for their battle against East Burke (Connelly Springs, NC). The Cavaliers enter the Western Piedmont 3A/4A battle with a 0-9 record. In their last battle, East Burke was edged by R-S Central (Rutherfordton, NC), 5-1, in a league battle.

Next up, the Cavaliers confront the Patton Panthers (Morganton, NC) in a Western Piedmont 3A/4A outing, on Wednesday, September 24. East Rutherford will attempt to improve on its 6-5 season record. The Panthers go into the outing with a 8-1 record after their 6-2 league win over West Caldwell (Lenoir, NC).
