The R-S Central Hilltoppers (Rutherfordton, NC) soccer overwhelmed the host East Burke Cavaliers (Connelly Springs, NC), 5-1 in Monday's league challenge.
The Hilltoppers now hold a 3-6 record. They play next when they travel to Hibriten for a Western Piedmont 3A/4A challenge on Wednesday, September 24. R-S Central will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 6-0 league win over Draughn (Valdese, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 9-3.
Next up, the Cavaliers battle the Chase Trojans (Forest City, NC) in a Western Piedmont 3A/4A match, on Wednesday, September 24. East Burke will attempt to move on its 0-9 season record. The Trojans come into the match with a 2-5 record after their 3-2 league win over East Rutherford (Bostic, NC).
