Fans at Monday's non-league battle between the McDowell Titans (Marion, NC) and the visiting North Buncombe Black Hawks (Weaverville, NC), saw McDowell's soccer squad knock off North Buncombe by a count of 2-0.

The Titans (4-2) will now prepare for their battle against South Caldwell (Hudson, NC). The Spartans come into the Northwestern 6A/7A match with a 1-5 record. In their last match, South Caldwell Hibriten (Lenoir, NC), 0-0, in a non-league match.

The Black Hawks now sport a 6-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Asheville for a Mountain 5A/6A match on Monday, September 29. North Buncombe will meet a Cougars team coming off a 2-0 league win over T.C. Roberson (Asheville, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 7-3.
