The crowd at Monday's league bout between the Gatewood Gators (Eatonton, GA) and the visiting Edmund Burke Academy Spartans (Waynesboro, GA), observed Gatewood's softball team get by Edmund Burke Academy by a final score of 4-1.

The Gators (8-7) will now prepare for their bout against Briarwood Academy (Warrenton, GA). The Buccaneers go into the GIAA Class A & AA District 4 bout with a 7-6 record. In their last bout, Briarwood Academy was routed by Harlem (Harlem, GA), 11-3, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Spartans battle the Brentwood War Eagles (Sandersville, GA) in a GIAA Class A & AA District 4 match, on Tuesday, September 23. Edmund Burke Academy will attempt to better on its 7-7 season record. The War Eagles come into the match with a 13-0 record after their 12-4 non-league win over Robert Toombs Christian Academy (Lyons, GA).
