The Scott Central Rebels (Forest, MS) volleyball overcame the host Newton Tigers (Newton, MS), 3-1 in Monday's league contest.

The Rebels (12-10) will now prepare for their contest against Lake (Lake, MS). The Hornets enter the Class 2A Region 5 contest with a 19-4 record. In their last contest, Lake notched a victory over Puckett (Puckett, MS), 3-0, in a league contest.

Next, the Tigers encounter the Raleigh Lions (Raleigh, MS) in a non-league battle, on Tuesday, September 23. Newton will attempt to improve on its 4-4 season record. The Lions go into the battle with a 5-9 record after their 3-0 league loss to Seminary (Seminary, MS).
