The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Sylmar Spartans (Sylmar, CA) and the visiting Marquez Gladiators (Huntington Park, CA), saw Sylmar's volleyball squad beat Marquez by a tally of 2-0.

With the win, Sylmar upgrades its record to 12-10 on the year. The Spartans host Carson (Carson, CA) to play the Colts in a non-league bout on Saturday, September 23. The Colts go into the bout with a record of 3-7. Carson won 2-0 in their recent league bout against Rancho Dominguez (Long Beach, CA)

The Gladiators now own a 4-4 record. They play next when they host Torres for a bout on Thursday, September 28. Marquez will play a Toros squad coming off a 2-1 league win over Elizabeth (Cudahy, CA). The Toros record now stands at 7-4.
