The Purple Hurricanes now sport a 7-14 record. They play next when they travel to Piedmont Academy for a non-league match on Saturday, September 23. Monroe Area will meet a Cougars squad coming off a 12-0 league win over Gatewood (Eatonton, GA). The Cougars record now stands at 11-4.

With the loss, Newton moves to 3-16 on the season. The Rams travel to Southwest DeKalb (Decatur, GA) to meet the Panthers in a non-league match on Saturday, September 23.
