Fans at Tuesday's league contest between the South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) and the host Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC), observed South Caldwell's volleyball team top Alexander Central by a count of 2-0.

The Spartans (10-3) will now prepare for their battle against McDowell (Marion, NC). The Titans go into the battle with a 13-4 record. In their last battle, McDowell achieved victory over Freedom (Morganton, NC), 2-1, in a league contest.

Next, the Cougars battle the St. Stephens Indians (Hickory, NC) in a contest, on Thursday, September 25. Alexander Central will attempt to move on its 4-10 season record. The Indians enter the contest with a 6-7 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Watauga (Boone, NC).
