Fans at Tuesday's league contest between the McDowell Titans (Marion, NC) and the host Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), observed McDowell's volleyball team hold off Freedom by a tally of 2-1.

The Titans (13-4) will now prepare for their contest against South Caldwell (Hudson, NC). The Spartans enter the contest with a 10-3 record. In their last test, South Caldwell tipped Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC), 2-0, in a league test.

The Patriots now own a 2-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Watauga for a non-league test on Thursday, September 25. Freedom will encounter a Pioneers squad coming off a 2-0 non-league win over St. Stephens (Hickory, NC). The Pioneers record now stands at 14-0.
