Newport Greyhounds (Newport, AR) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they observed their volleyball team overcome the visiting Walnut Ridge Bobcats (Walnut Ridge, AR), 3-0 in a league challenge.

The Greyhounds (5-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Central (West Helena, AR). The Cougars enter the 3A 3 challenge with a 1-9 record. In their last challenge, Central was beaten by Hoxie (Hoxie, AR), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Bobcats meet the Pocahontas Redskins (Pocahontas, AR) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, September 25. Walnut Ridge will attempt to upgrade on its 3-7 season record. The Redskins enter the challenge with a 6-4 record after their 3-0 league win over Blytheville (Blytheville, AR).
