The Pomona Catholic Pacers held off the host Alverno Heights Academy Jaguars volleyball team by a score of 2-1 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Pacers now have a 14-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary for a Santa Fe test on Tuesday, September 27. Pomona Catholic will confront a Cardinals team coming off a 3-0 league win over St. Bernard (Playa del Rey, CA). The Cardinals record now stands at 10-4.

The Jaguars (4-12) will now prepare for their test against San Gabriel Mission (San Gabriel, CA). The Pioneers enter the Soledad test with a 4-10 record. In their last test, San Gabriel Mission was nudged by Bishop Conaty-Loretto (Los Angeles, CA), 3-0, in a league test.
