In Tuesday's league challenge, the visiting Mitchell Mountaineers volleyball team scored a close 2-1 victory over the Madison Patriots.

The Mountaineers (4-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Draughn (Valdese, NC). The Wildcats enter the challenge with a 16-0 record. In their last challenge, Draughn got by Owen (Black Mountain, NC), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Patriots meet the Rosman Tigers (Rosman, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, October 1. Madison will attempt to upgrade on its 5-6 season record. The Tigers enter the challenge with a 2-9 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Avery County (Newland, NC).
