The Gatewood Gators softball squad (Eatonton, GA), was routed 9-2 in Tuesday's non-league contest with the visiting Briarwood Academy Buccaneers (Warrenton, GA)

With the triumph, Briarwood Academy improves its record to 6-10 on the year. The Buccaneers travel to Thomson (Thomson, GA) to face the Bulldogs in a non-league contest on Tuesday, October 1. The Bulldogs enter the contest with a record of 8-10.

The Gators now hold a 2-15 record. They play next when they host Thomas Jefferson Academy for a GIAA Class A & AA District 4 contest on Wednesday, September 25. Gatewood will face a Jaguars squad coming off a 6-2 non-league loss to Pinewood Christian (Bellville, GA). The Jaguars record now stands at 6-6.
