The Screven County Gamecocks softball team scored 11 runs and held the visiting Claxton Tigers to 1 in the Gamecocks league win on Tuesday.

The Gamecocks now sport a 12-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Metter for a 1A D-II Region 3 battle on Thursday, September 26. Screven County will confront a Tigers team coming off a 11-3 league win over Jenkins County (Millen, GA). The Tigers record now stands at 13-4.

With the loss, Claxton moves to 5-10 on the season. The Tigers host Portal (Portal, GA) to confront the Panthers in a 1A D-II Region 3 battle on Wednesday, September 25. The Panthers come into the battle with a record of 4-7. Portal lost 14-2 in their recent league battle against Emanuel County Institute (Twin City, GA)
