Fans at Tuesday's non-league contest between the Brethren Bobcats (Brethren, MI) and the visiting Bear Lake Lakers (Bear Lake, MI), observed Brethren's volleyball team hold off Bear Lake by a count of 2-1.

The Bobcats (3-7) will now prepare for their contest against Onekama (Onekama, MI). The Portagers enter the Northwest contest with a 16-5 record. In their last contest, Onekama got by Suttons Bay (Suttons Bay, MI), 3-0, in a league contest.

Next, the Lakers battle the Walkerville Wildcats (Walkerville, MI) in a West Michigan D contest, on Thursday, September 26. Bear Lake will attempt to move on its 4-10 season record.
