In Wednesday's non-league challenge, the visiting George C. Marshall Statesmen volleyball team scored a 3-1 triumph over the Alexandria City Titans.

The Statesmen (9-3) will now prepare for their test against Herndon (Herndon, VA). The Hornets go into the Liberty test with a 10-4 record. In their last test, Herndon gained a win over Edison (Alexandria, VA), 3-0, in a non-league test.

The Titans now sport a 1-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Fairfax for a Patriot challenge on Thursday, September 25. Alexandria City will play a Lions team coming off a 3-2 league win over West Springfield (Springfield, VA). The Lions record now stands at 8-0.
