Fans at Wednesday's league battle between the Elkin Buckin' Elks (Elkin, NC) and the visiting Wilkes Central Eagles (Wilkesboro, NC), saw Elkin's soccer squad triumph over Wilkes Central by a count of 9-1.

The Buckin' Elks (11-1) will now prepare for their match against North Surry (Mount Airy, NC). The Greyhounds come into the non-league match with a 5-5 record. In their last match, North Surry was overwhelmed by Surry Central (Dobson, NC), 4-2, in a league match.

The Eagles now sport a 5-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Ashe County for a Mountain Valley 2A/3A/4A match on Monday, September 29. Wilkes Central will meet a Huskies team coming off a 8-0 league win over North Wilkes (Hays, NC). The Huskies record now stands at 11-2.
