The La Cueva Bears (Albuquerque, NM) soccer nipped the host Sandia Matadors (Albuquerque, NM), 1-0 in Wednesday's league challenge.
The Bears now hold a 9-1 record. They play next when they host Eldorado for a 5A District 2 challenge on Saturday, September 27. La Cueva will battle a Golden Eagles team coming off a 5-0 league win over Manzano (Albuquerque, NM). The Golden Eagles record now stands at 7-3.
The Matadors (7-2) will now prepare for their contest against Capital (Santa Fe, NM). The Jaguars enter the 5A District 2 contest with a 9-2 record. In their last contest, Capital held off Santa Fe (Santa Fe, NM), 2-1, in a league contest.
