Nebraska High School Softball - Grand Island gets by Fremont

September 23, 2025: Fremont, NE 68025

In Tuesday's league game, the visiting Grand Island Islanders softball squad scored a close 4-3 triumph over the Fremont Tigers.

With the triumph, Grand Island improves its record to 6-12 on the year. The Islanders travel to Kearney (Kearney, NE) to play the Bearcats in a A District game on Thursday, September 25. The Bearcats enter the game with a record of 16-9. Kearney lost 5-0 in their recent league game against Lincoln Southwest (Lincoln, NE)

The Tigers now hold a 3-18 record. They play next when they travel to Pius X for a A District match on Thursday, September 25. Fremont will battle a Thunderbolts team coming off a 5-1 non-league win over Standing Bear (Lincoln, NE). The Thunderbolts record now stands at 9-12.
