St. Mary's Gaels (Manhasset, NY) backers were pleased Wednesday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the visiting Our Lady of Mercy Monarchs (Rochester, NY), 3-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Gaels (1-1) will now prepare for their challenge against St. John the Baptist (West Islip, NY). The Cougars come into the Catholic challenge with a 0-1 record.

Next, the Monarchs meet the St. Mary's Lancers (Lancaster, NY) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, September 24. Our Lady of Mercy will attempt to upgrade on its 4-4 season record. The Lancers come into the challenge with a 13-0 record after their 3-1 non-league win over Cathedral Prep (Erie, PA).
