In Monday's non-league battle, the host South Caldwell Spartans soccer squad scored a close 2-1 win over the Freedom Patriots.
The Spartans (6-1) will now prepare for their battle against Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC). The Cougars go into the non-league battle with a 3-4 record. In their last battle, Alexander Central was nudged by Watauga (Boone, NC), 4-0, in a non-league battle.
The Patriots (4-2) will now prepare for their battle against Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC). The Huskies go into the non-league battle with a 2-5 record. In their last battle, Ashe County was nudged by Hibriten (Lenoir, NC), 1-0, in a non-league battle.
