Grundy County Panthers (Galt, MO) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Meadville Eagles (Meadville, MO), 6-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 4-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Princeton for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, October 3.

With the loss, Meadville falls to 5-11 on the campaign. The Eagles host Bevier (Bevier, MO) to battle the Wildcats in a Class 1 District 11 challenge on Tuesday, September 26. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 7-8. Bevier won 9-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Atlanta (Atlanta, MO)
