In Wednesday's non-league challenge, the visiting Collegiate Cougars volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Freeman Mavericks.

The Cougars (2-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Grove Christian School (Richmond, VA). The Falcons come into the non-league challenge with a 6-1 record. In their last challenge, Grove Christian School edged The Carmel School (Ruther Glen, VA), 2-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Mavericks meet the J.R. Tucker Tigers (Henrico, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, September 26. Freeman will attempt to upgrade on its 7-5 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 6-3 record after their 2-1 non-league win over Godwin (Richmond, VA).
