New Mexico High School Soccer - La Cueva nudges Sandia

Fans at Wednesday's league battle between the La Cueva Bears (Albuquerque, NM) and the visiting Sandia Matadors (Albuquerque, NM), saw La Cueva's soccer squad hold off Sandia by a count of 2-1.

The Bears (7-1) will now prepare for their battle against Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM). The Golden Eagles enter the 5A District 2 battle with a 7-3 record. In their last battle, Eldorado tipped Manzano (Albuquerque, NM), 3-0, in a league battle.

Next up, the Matadors battle the Capital Jaguars (Santa Fe, NM) in a 5A District 2 battle, on Saturday, September 28. Sandia will attempt to upgrade on its 4-6 season record. The Jaguars enter the battle with a 6-5 record after their 2-0 league loss to Santa Fe (Santa Fe, NM).
