In Wednesday's league test, the Claxton Tigers (Claxton, GA) softball squad got by the visiting Portal Panthers (Portal, GA), by a tally of 5-4.
Next, the Tigers meet the McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers (Darien, GA) in a 1A D-II Region 3 test, on Monday, September 30. Claxton will attempt to advance on its 6-10 season record. The Buccaneers go into the test with a 4-15 record after their 15-6 league loss to Bryan County (Pembroke, GA).
The Panthers (4-8) will now prepare for their test against Metter (Metter, GA). The Tigers go into the 1A D-II Region 3 test with a 14-4 record. In their last test, Metter held off Screven County (Sylvania, GA), 2-1, in a league test.
