In Thursday's non-league bout, the North Surry Greyhounds (Mount Airy, NC) volleyball team held off the host Mount Airy Granite Bears (Mount Airy, NC), by a margin of 2-1.
The Greyhounds now possess a 8-9 record. They play next when they host Forbush for a non-league bout on Tuesday, September 30. North Surry will clash with a Falcons team coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Surry Central (Dobson, NC). The Falcons record now stands at 11-6.
The Granite Bears (1-8) will now prepare for their match against West Stokes (King, NC). The Wildcats enter the non-league match with a 9-2 record. In their last match, West Stokes was tipped by East Surry (Pilot Mountain, NC), 2-0, in a non-league match.
